Dover Comic Con is a family-friendly, indoor-outdoor pop-culture festival with over a hundred vendors, artists & artisans, authors, a cosplay competition, fan groups, pop-culture cars, food trucks and panel discussions throughout the day. With the support of many local businesses and the City of Dover, this event has quickly grown into one of Dover's best-loved community events. Mark your calendars for August 17th, 2019!

The Scorched Pamphlet: Sherlock Homles Returns to Delaware
In his second trip to Delaware, Sherlock Holmes is called up to solve a grisly case at Delaware College. Holmes and Watson are now in a race against time, a reluctant administration, and impossible odds to solve one of Delaware's unsolved mysteries. Based on the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and an actual New Castle court case.
Performances at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm
No pyrotechnics, live flame, or smoke generators of any kind are permitted. Projectile glitter, confetti, or liquid are not allowed. Anything that may cause you or someone else harm is strictly prohibited.
No functional weapons are allowed at Dover Comic Con. Please do not bring real swords, firearms, or any other authentic weapon. Only props are allowed. Simulated or costume weapons are allowed as part of your costume. No projectile weapons (including but not limited to airsoft or paintball weapons) will be allowed. Weapons with a metal blade, regardless of whether it is dull or sharp, are prohibited.
All simulated or costume weapons are subject to inspection by security or convention staff. Participants found to be in violation of these rules will be subject to removal from the event.

|12:00pm||PLB Comics Presents: Creating Comics||Creating Comics is an informative and entertaining panel featuring the PLB Comics team sharing in the process of comic book creation. From inception to completion, PLB’s writers and artists will guide attendees through the course of creating their very own comic books. Crafting riveting stories, laying out pages, drawing, inking, and lettering will all be touched on. All attendees will be given an information packet and a FREE COMIC!|

"Or So the Story Goes" is an award winning horror web series, utilizing teens in both the cast and crew. Each season brings to life a classic children's tale with a dark, modern twist. Get a Con exclusive sneak peek at the latest season and discuss the series with members of the cast and crew, concluding in a game of fairy tale trivia (with prizes)!

The Fantasy genre is a rich and symbolic genre that has endless avenues to express a story. One of those avenues is the very physical world the story takes place in. This workshop will focus on implementing architecture, maps, urban planning, and history into a novel or series.
|3:00pm||Writing to Get Published: What an Editor Wants||
How do you know your writing is good enough to be accepted? What do editors look for? As a former submissions editor and copy editor of several online science fiction/fantasy magazines, author L.S. King will give you some guidelines and answer your questions.

Join Mike Boyd for "The History of The American Comics" at 4:00pm in The Biggs Museum.
